I'd like a mod that doesn't use magical transporters, ala Star Trek, to send all my mechs and personnel back to the Argo. It's a total cheat in the middle of a pitched battle that's starting to go bad for me to be able to bail from the mission safe and sound without penalty.

I'd like to see a mod that when I hit Withdrawal from combat, it has settings for the following:

  1. There is ZERO salvage, obviously.
  2. Mechs destroyed or left on the field of battle are lost and don't make it back to the Mechbay.
  3. Mechwarriors in a destroyed mech or who ejected roll to see if they make it back to the Dropship modified by their Tactics, Guts and number of wounds remaining.
  4. Mechs with a destroyed leg may be lost and not appear in the Mechbay. Mechwarriors roll as above and Mechs roll modified by things like all weapons destroyed, how many destroyed sections they have, engine damage, etc...

I cant think of anything else other than how awesome it would be to have a mod like this. Thanks for the consideration and ideas are welcome.

Don't forget, that under the 'rules of warfare' in this period, surrender and exchange by mercenaries was the norm.

"Waving the white flag" usually (if your foe weren't fanatics or pirates) let you disengage and retreat off planet with what was left (plus a ransom). Complete loss of your contract pay, salvage and reputation already abstracts this nicely.

Against fanatics, yes, this type of mod would be interesting.

Thats what the RNG would represent. That small chance that the hungry mercs or pirates you had just intended to engage and kill would let your crippled mech limp off the battlefield intact with you at the controls.
