I've got no modding skills and I'm never likely to, but I'd like to list a few things I'd love to see, if possible, added as official DLC/expansions, or mods by the community....Would be interested to see what others would like added to the game after its released.

- I'd pay good money for a game that can take all the things I love about trade/transport sim games and successfully add that to a city builder like SC and CSL. So I'd love a mod that allows me to take control over the buses, trains, trams etc, put together schedules, ticket prices, routes....without taking out or removing any of the city building side of the game. You could make it a separate mode similar to the U-Drive-It from SC4 but to be honest I don't really feel those were done that well, I'm not interested in doing silly missions, I want a proper transport sim where I carry people are cargo around a city and off map to simworld. Maybe the CiM mod for CSL :).

- I'd like to see a feature from A-Train 9 v3.0 added where you can not only follow your trains, buses etc but can get an in vehicle view as it goes about its schedule in the world. Gives you a lovely view of the city you've created and brilliant for screenshots or videos to show off your work, really get down in to the city from a citizens perspective. You don't take control over any of the vehicles, its just a sit and watch the view roll past.

I'd like to keep this list separate to a wishlist for the game before release....I'd like this to be strictly about things that would be worthwhile additions but are too big a task for CO to include in the release.

I honestly doubt the mods will greatly change gameplay mechanics, it's probably going to be mostly the usual cosmetic/balance stuff. But my personal wish for distant future is some kind of civ-like historical progression. Start (ideally) somewhere in ancient era and progress towards "cities of tomorrow", with different texture sets, means of transportation, natural resources, policies... I think it would be pretty much doable using mostly the current gameplay mechanics, but in order to be consistent throughout the whole game it would probably need to be an official expansion by CO (or a project by a coordinated group of modders, which is unlikely). Oh well, for now I just hope for a good release :)
