I've been playing Stellaris for a while, waiting for when it might recieve modding privileges as the PC version had and have been wondering for a while on when something like this may come around? I saw a post from around 2018-2019 saying how Paradox will be giving console modding privileges and was wondering if it will be?

I highly doubt Sony in particular will allow them, they're very much against mods, even more so than Microsoft on their consoles...

Almost no console games contain mods, one of the few developer that has made deals to allow a select amount of curated mods in their games, Bethesda, in some of the recent Fallout and Elder Scrolls games with the Bethesda Workshop, are allowed to put a lot more in Xbox versions than Playstation versions.

Also most console gamers don't look for or even think of using mods, but I guess, nothing is impossible - maybe if however many console users that actually want them petition Paradox and their particular platforms' manufacturers, they might be added, but again I highly doubt it .

Paradox has said in the past they want to look into mods for console edition

There was a caveat however, which was that the game would need to be "caught up" with the PC version

Given the fact it often takes several months to get an update ported from PC to console, I don't think this will happen anytime soon, if at all

And if it does eventually happen, it would likely be very limited

Think what Cities Skylines or Surviving Mars has for mod support on console, and you'd likely be in the ballpark
