Technically all mods can be used with ironman, however you (assuming it works like EU4/CK2) need an unmodded install and ironman to get achievements. Non-gameplay related mods works, things that only change localisation and/or graphics, though anything that changes the checksum, which would be any gameplay mod, stop you being able to earn achievements.

There's a file called 'achievements' in the common folder. All the achievements state;

possible = {
is_ironman = yes
}

I haven't tried, but maybe removing that part from the achievements unlocks them outside Ironman mode?

I'd say that wouldn't work, as achievements need the game checksum to be the correct one - i.e. an unmodded game. And I'm pretty sure modifying the achievements file will change the checksum.

Not really. As the things stand you can have either gameplay mods, or achievements. You can't have both.

Yeah, I understand. I do not care for achievements much but even then I have to say it still irks me a tiny tiny bit. Like I have hundreds of hours in EU4, not a single achievment.
