Do we know will there be a way to mod techs or mining stations so that we can get minerals or energy from stars or planets that don't originally have any? I find it unrealistic that there would be planets or stars that provide nothing in the way of resources. Especially towards the end game.

We should be able to get Energy from "Stars", I'm pretty sure this needs to be done!!

That's what I was thinking!! Why are the blorg desperately searching for energy like schmucks when they have gigantic balls of it just waiting to be exploited. I know there is balance and such but it shouldn't be hard to work around while not being over powered.

Mining station placed over stars ? Maybe it can be done by creating new variations of the mining station, or removing the restrictions on where you can build them.

Perhaps do not call it a mining station, as it sort of implies miners going deep into the sun to collect stuff, which seems an extrem effort to gain storable energy from the sun, but a Solar Engine or a Solar Pannel Array or something more sensible.
Depending on the distance to the sun it could give more or less energy and perhaps a drawback that the closer it gets it may not last very long :) but on the outer rim of the system it may last forever but gives only few energy.

There are already Solar Arrays in, iirc they were one of the first things @Wiz added to his Space Stations. If you feel the need, you could always mod these to be more effective. ;-)

i just thought, there is at least one very destinct difference betwen mining stations and space stations. Mining Stations i have not seen to have a module system or being upgradable. Uprgadable Mining stations but would be very important if you want to do a tall Empire without having many planets yourself.
