Installed via Steam, running native on Ubuntu 24.04

Steam installed via Snap Store.
The game runs fine with no mods selected. Like literally loads up in 40 seconds.

I add mods via Steam Workshop or side-load mods from the internet they will show up as present, working on the current version, and selected for a playset but when the game loads the game runs as if the "no mods" option was selected 100% of the time.
I tried running the game via Proton and the mods showed up in the launcher and showed in game. I was happy that it worked but Proton makes the game run significantly slower and it makes the game not fun to play (sorry if that sounds juvenile).
I should have mentioned that I did verify the files and test with individual mods from Steam Workshop, via side-loading and from the Paradox mod interface.

Additionally I did 2 full clean installs as well as the steps recommended on this forum and everything I could find on reddit.

I am lost. Any help would be most welcome.

Hey I wanted to add an update in case anyone ever had the same issue.

The issue was that Steam was installed via Snap. The file locations looked like this "/home/mrchavez1234/snap/steam/common/.steam/steam" but the CK3 executeable was looking under "/home/mrchavez1234/.steam/steam"

The solution was to backup my steamapps and userdata folders, uninstall the Snap install of Steam, restart, and then install Steam via Console. Mods from the workshop and sideloading are working now.

The game is VERY slow to load up but once it starts it runs smoother than ever. Hope this helps someone else in the future!
