This might certainly be my system, but I haven't seen any of these issues except in HOI. This seems odd as the simple monitor power settings shouldn't cause problems with applications.

Problem: When my computer turns off the Monitor for power conservation and I wake up with HOI running, the game seems to still be running but I cannot input commands. For example if I have paused I cannot unpause the game. I can use the mouse to scrolls the screen, but keyboard functions seem to be gone, and clickable functions are also disabled (i.e. I cannot issue orders by clicking).

Debug:
I have tried multiple monitors same problem
I have NOT enabled any type of Sleep mode (no s1,s3,s4)
When enabling S3 HOI locks up when recovering
I have tried multiple video cards (GeForce2 MX420 and Riva TNT2 Ultra) same problem

System specifications
MainBoard: ASUS A7V333
Proc: AMD XP 2000+
Mem: 2x256MB PC2700 DDR
Video: GeForce4 Ti 4200(NV25)
Monitor: Samsung 17" CRT

Software
Win2000 SP1
HOI 1.02 (no mods)
Desktop resolution 1024x768x32bpp @ 75Hz
HOI Res 1024x768

have you tried the support forum? These are the guys who specialise in hardware problems. If you haven't just let me know hereand I'll move this thread over, saving the problems of rewritting such an epic post.

No problem, that's what we're here for. Now fasten your seatbelts as we are about to take off.

Work around for now is to just disable the power mangment and turn your monitor off. :)

It is most likely not the monitor powering down that is the cause however. More likely you may have your diskdrive set to power down.

At any rate please give us full system specs.

Egads.. what else do you want serial numbers :) Seriously what else do you want as far as specs.

And it is NOT any other type of power managment setting. I do not set up Standby or hibernate and my HDD is set to Never for its timeout.

So you no power managment other than the monitor? Do you use a screen saver?

Are you sure you have the other power managment turned off in both the software (operating sytem or 3rd party) and the harware (CMOS). What are your CMOS settings. CMOS is the stuff that is accessed when you hit del when booting the computer.

Power managment

Yep... I'm sure its all turned off.

My BIOS supports ACPI and S3 Standby, but in the OS I have turned off all of my PM timeouts except "Turn off Monitor" that is set for 20 minutes.

So I am CERTAIN that none of
S1
S3
S4

are causing the issue.. it could be my mainboard.. it could be my keyboard/mouse...

Just to clarify its not a major issue for me, just a minor annoyance, I reported it as a POSSIBLE issue for the programers to consider IF it had been reported by many others.

Since I am not getting a bunch of others saying "Yeah I see that too" I can assume its a very rare irssue with my hardware/software.

Other possible problem include a TRS that is doing something, Like an auto update, virus check, system maintenance, ...
