I've been playing it since yesterday afternoon and I'm on scenario #4. So far it's been pretty fun.

It definitely feels like more than a re-skin. A big change is that you can't access any meaningful healers, at least not easily. I still haven't been able to make a shaman due to restrictions on the first few maps and due to resources afterwards, and the koatl healing totems are adorable but not too reliable since you can't command them. So that changes my play style, and it has me using more inns, carefully placed flags, and more micro-healing with the regeneration spell, etc. Oh and to account for this, the heroes are hardier than the human equivalents, especially those liches (omg, I love them).

If there's one thing I want that I don't have, it's a map to play the monsters in all their glory that *doesn't* have a timed objective. I have finally unlocked most of the units by scenario 5, but alas, it's going to force to me to hurry up and rush (just like #4 did...). I was hoping to find a *single mission* with the monsters but I can't find any. Am I just missing something? I even bought the DLC pack of 4 more missions, and to my disappointment they all started me as humans. If anybody wants to take a campaign map and make a standalone out of it, that'd be great. I suck at the editor. :) Oh, and if you want to be really nice, tweak it so we actually have time to experience all of the new content and enjoy it (for example like Dangerous Valley). And you know, if I could take that map and switch it to monsters just for fun, I would...

So far not too many bugs, apart from a few typos, the fact that the narrator says different things that what is written (and that's a good thing, due to the weak translation), a disappearing ogre or two, and lich weirdness... for some reason, they seem to roll extremely high strength (12-17) and crappy magic (5-10) so I'm not sure what is up with that.

Anyway, wondering who else has it and what you're enjoying. And if you also want a nice monster glory map, speak up!

Update: I've also posted a review of the game, here: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy....html?id=752480&tag=player-reviews;continue;1

Short on money right now but i was going to buy this as soon as possible. But hearing that there are yet again no more love given to single mission/random map/freeplay is really of putting. That is what people want and how they dont get that is insane. Atleast there should be single missions with monsters playable. Also the fact that this is the 3rd expansion and they for some reason still havent made more effort to put in true freeplay or real random maps is sick, this game had so much potential at release so its really sad they didnt use the expansions to make perfection! Well lets hope for Majesty 3 then i guess...

Yes, I was disappointed in that also but I for one find the game highly entertaining so I play it anyway. :) To honest, I could get by with one or two maps that let you do what you want (one humans, one monsters), maybe with easy-to-avoid triggers that you can decide to enable once you are ready for more challenge (faraway monster lairs, castles, etc.). Just a few good maps would go a long way. After all, sandbox gets boring after you do it a few times (in other games, at least, I haven't done it here!), but I still want the ability to do it.

I'm hoping they release some extra maps when they patch it. It will probably need one, at least if they care about polishing up those typos and a few annoying bugs (disappearing mobs, savegame crashes, and that invisible chest one I read about sounds awful though I haven't seen it).

Make sure you save often this expansion crashes a lot. Also the only map that does not feel like you have no choice but to rush as fast as you can to finish it is the last mission kind of sucks.
Hint don't kill the graveyards before the liches tomb is gone.

Thanks for the info, I just beat the second-to-last mission and I'm about to try the last one. The second-to-last one was pretty fun, that's another one that would make a great single-map - without the 110 day limit on if you like to turtle. It takes so long to run your guys around the map it was crazy, and and I ancipated that. But I couldn't stop one of my liches from killing the ancient vampire crypt once he got near it (which he had to for the quest) and the skellies that pop everywhere were crazy. Actually kind of fun, they were like a constant stream of 25+ ancient skeletons everywhere, distracting my heroes who were desperately trying to get to the boss. Got her on the first try micromanging a party that got 8 levels off her while the rest of the army swam through undead.

Also I have not had a single crash in monster kingdom and I make sure I have no more than 8 save games at all times. My game used to crash in Kingmaker though. Only bug in second-to-last scenario was that the beastmaster after the ogre was invisible.

Totally agree whyman, totally agree. NEED SINGLE MISSIONS WITH MONSTERS! I've already beaten the campaign and I'm walking a friend through it, but without a single mission to enjoy when I want I am missing out on the monster goodness. Such a shame.

I'd even buy one via DLC. Just gimme one.

What you can try is the 2 co-op missions on multiplayer. If your on MK you can play the monsters in it. You can start the game without another person or wait around an hour or two to play with a russian.
They're are pretty hard (especially the vampire one) because they are designed for 2 players but their not impossible

I think its really sad that the developers wont listen or respond to the community on this. Why should i buy more games from them or paradox? No support = no buy in the future!

What makes you think that developers aren't listening to fans? We do. But the truth is so that we simply can't reply to all demands immediately, because all of them required time to meet with, and time is the most needed resource.

The idea to add some single missions with monsters (via DLC or some other way) is a great one, and this thread is showing that there definitely is the demand, so it might find it's realization.

Btw, I think that there is no intention to force anyone to buy our games. Ino-Co and Paradox are trying to make good games and we are glad if you like them.

I understand but i also feel that comments have been made for a long time that the community want more single maps and the wish for true random maps. Now i may be wrong and i know that it takes time to make these maps/changes. (in the case of true random maps maybe not even possible) I dont demand for you to "reply to all demands immediately" but given that this thread was created on 12-01-2011 and we didnt get a reply untill i wrote a post with rather harsh words i feel that while you may very well listen its very hard for us to know that. In closing, thank you for the reply and i now know that you do listen. After all its just some frustation over the great game that is Majesty 2 missing one or two things.

Unfortunately, Monster Kingdom and BfA are not available at Steam. I'd be happy to buy both if they were offered there. :)

I don't have Monster Kingdom yet and quite frankly i'd like to know if you must play campaign for monsters. Eventho i didn't try it yet, mostly i am not fancy of such approach (playing for monsters that is). So how is it in moster kingdom?
