Melting pots system from vanilla was pretty basic - you can only get cultures, which directly derive from their predecessors (Castilian, Andalusian etc from visigothic). The only interesting were connected with English culture - From Norse to Normans and finally English, or outremer.
I think that the new ck must improve that mechanic. There is even HIP all about this theme

melting pots event are too rigid and often doesn't work well in ck2
the patchy way some time religion and culture map end up are ridiculous
a system more like pagan reform in holy fury(and new religion system dev talked about on stream) may better suited to handle culture change too

What I liked about CK2 was the "What-if" about events in the game. Sometimes, kingdoms arise from the most outrageous events. England in France and vice versa. I'd like to see a the possibility of "Hybridized" Cultures.

Say, for example, France winds up controlling Italy for a while. Could the two cultures "melt" to form a Franco-Italian Culture?

I'm thinking the devs could use CK2's current De Jure System, and design a similar mechanism to describe the merging of different cultures over time. And the wonderful thing is that these new cultures won't necessarily be the ones we already know.

Due to the whacky ways of CK2, or 3, these hypothetical cultures could be ones we've never even heard of...

I like this idea too, if it could somehow be managed. Maybe CK3, if it doesn't have such a thing, could be modded to make it work, since moddability and scripting should be a lot more open

It would be great to have something fluid and dynamic, which could account for pretty much any possible scenario
