Can we do something about that?

Every patch i need like 2 weeks to get my message settings back to where i want it. And then there is a new patch. And i never know if i got the settings even to the point where i want it.

That's across all Titles (CK2 EU4). Can i write protect a ini file to save my settings? Or can you change your patch routine to not overwrite my message settings files pls paradox =).

They don't do it out of stupidity or malice, but because it is, regrettably, sometimes necessary. The old message.ini file would not work with the new game version, because they've changed messages in some way that required its format or internal arrangement to change.

Without knowing the first thing about programming:

It should be possible to import the old settings into the new ones and set the new ones to default, right?

It'd even be an improvement to be have a button 'set all message settings to x'.

Make a backup copy of the original settings file, then after you've set messages to your liking, diff your current settings file with the original one and save resulting patch for future use. Next time you've installed Paradox patch, just apply this saved patch to the settings file (updated by Paradox patch).
