This is seriously ruining the game for me. The team with more players always wins, and very easily, thus playing the game is pointless because nothing you do matters as long as one team has more players than the other.

I join a server, it's 2v1, we win so easily it is boring. Another match, 3vs2 in favor of the other team, they win so easily and nothing we can do about it... very frustrating.

It is less bad when it's 5vs6 since the impact of one player is reduced, but even there you feel the difference at equal skill level.

I suggest this issue be addressed as fast as possible. One suggestion would be to put new players in spectator mode until there are 2 of them waiting, then put one of them on each team to always keep the balance.

Ye, we'll have to see to some kind of balancing system for when one team has fewer players. The match making prioritize to put players into servers that have an odd number of players - but obviously this doesn't eliminate the issue :) thanks for letting us know how you feel.

I just heard about the new change to damage / defense adjustment according to the number of players.

As a temporary fix this will do, but I hope we will get a better system soon because this is not sufficient. For one if we are playing 2v3, the team with 3 players can capture all 3 points at the same time, and generally be at more places at the same time than the team with two players. This is a big advantage. Also a simple damage nerf doesn't take into account the number of stuns and invulnerability related abilities coming from more players... Simply scaling the damage is not enough and doesn't take into account many other game mechanics that still give too much advantage to the team with more players.

I ended up losing interest in this game mainly because of this reason. I haven't played for days and went back to DOTA and CSGO. But I realize this game is a work in progress and thus I will check back in a few weeks or months once starvoid gets a few more patches.

No, does not fully balance out the issues of having fewer players, but it helps a lot. Nor do I think that there is ever a way to full compensate for the loss of players without making it an advantage being fewer players. One big thing though, that you'll notice if you try playing the the balance fix, is that it is rarely possible in the setup that you mention for the 3 player team to capture the 3 middle extraction points. Assuming that all players are equally good, if the 3 players split up to grab one EP each, 2 of them will be beaten by one each of the 2 players in the opposing team, since they have to battle it out 1v1 with a disadvantage. This makes games with different numbers of players on the teams quite different from 3v3 games etc, until a new player joins the server :)

But yes, we are still looking into further attempts on balancing the game while there are fewer players on one team.
