Hello Cities Mayors,

We are thrilled to announce that we have brand-new content for Cities: Skylines, developed by two amazing Content Creators, all implemented by our talented partners at Tantalus! This content has been in the works for some time as we know many of you still love building and expanding your cities in the original Cities: Skylines. Whether you’re a long-time fan or just discovering the game, these new additions help expand the range of your cities, with a Mountain Village Pack and Map Pack 3 with new maps that focus on mountain peaks and alpine terrain. Plus, for those who love the sounds of trees whispering in the wind, the Radio Station Alpine Tunes can accompany you on your next trip to the mountaintop.

We also want to reassure those of you that play Cities: Skylines II, that the development of this new content for Cities: Skylines is an entirely separate effort. The content you’ll find in this release for Cities: Skylines has been implemented by Tantalus, the studio who managed the console ports for Cities: Skylines. No resources were diverted from Cities: Skylines II for this - our friends at Colossal Order remain fully focused on developing and improving Cities: Skylines II. This approach allows us to release some updates without compromising on either game.
So, for those excited for news around Cities: Skylines II — if you missed the earlier entry about the roadmap for the first region packs, we are almost done with the implementation of the first pack and it will be out next week!
Join us on our trip around the world https://www.paradoxinteractive.com/games/cities-skylines-ii/modding/cities-skylines-ii-region-packs - and look forward to great experiences for many years to come with Cities: Skylines II.

Thank you for being such a vital part of this journey, whether you’re playing Cities: Skylines, Cities: Skylines II, or both! We look forward to seeing what incredible new mountain villages you bring to life with this release!

Considering that those who are playing CS1 are playing with MODs, considering that there are 51684 custom buildings and 53878 custom maps on the workshop, updating the game by breaking the mods to add some buildings and some maps creates more inconveniences than anything else. Anyone playing a modded version of CS1 now has to wait/hope for the MODs to be updated, essentially they can't play. You are creating discomfort

I have to say, you're living in an illusion if you think waiting for mod updates is a viable solution. Cities: Skylines 1 is essentially a dead game, much like Imperator, and relying on modders who aren’t compensated for their time and effort is simply unreasonable.

The reality is, these talented creators are providing free content and keeping the game (CS1) somewhat alive, but it’s not fair for them to have to shoulder that burden without any payment. Paradox should seriously consider compensating modders, as they’re effectively preventing these games from being completely forgotten.

Many features in Cities: Skylines 2 are inspired by mods from the first game, which shows just how valuable these contributions are. If modders were to protest this kind of exploitation, it would be a step toward justice for their hard work. We should be advocating for their recognition and support, not just hoping for updates that may never come.

I agree that CS1 is an old game and many mods have been discontinued by their authors, but how can you say it is a dead game!? Statistics from the last 24 hours on Steam:
Cities: Skylines - 11,737 (24-hour peak)
Cities: Skylines II - 7,232 (24-hour peak)

So please, let's stick to the facts.

idk if it's dumb what I'm about to ask: but is it possible to make the game population cap beyond 1 million inhabitants and the vehicle limit?
I mean, we're in 2024, mods like Realistic Population help to hit the limit faster. Computers are faster than in 2015 aswell.

On the remastered version of the game, when changing zoning types, a very unusual, low quality image is shown for two of the options.

Hello. I wanted to say I am so happy for the bugfixes, especially fixing the Railroads of Japan small station and fixing the historical library for Seaside Resorts. Super excited for this update.

Yeah I think they should definitely release a 25-tiles update because they have it in the remastered console version.
I would really like that, I still play the PS4 version on PS5 because I dont want to start a new city, I spent ages on this so i don't want to leave it, but If they did, it's most likely going to be a cheat and I'd rather not disable trophies.

There are so many wonky and screwed up bridges and tracks around my city....

Has anyone had problems with the game completely crashing to desktop when trying to save now?

When the Autosave happens, the game still freezes and then crashes to desktop.

Can we expect development to restart? I think upping some of the limits of the game (maybe via options) to accommodate evolution of hardware since release would be great. It can be done through mods, but official support could go further.

Also this does not show up on the forum front pages. I saw a news on my phone, otherwise would not even know the game was not abandoned and you are pushing new DLCs.
