Mouse pointer disappearing windows 7

I recently purchased AOD from steam and have attempted to play the game. However when scrolling to the center of the screen the mouse pointer flickers then disappears. Everything else about the game works fine however this makes the game completely unplayable. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if there is any fix for it?

Are you using dual ATI graphics cards with CrossFire enabled? If you are, disable the CrossFire and it should work ok. HoI2 uses quite an old game engine and it doesn't support dual graphics card.

I am not using crossfire but have an ATI Radeon 5790. Updating my graphics drivers solved the problem, However on reboot the problem persists.

A xx90 version of an AMD card is usually a "double" graphics card. (Kind of Crossfire, just in a single card.) If you can follow the link Julle posted for you, you'll have the fix.
