Mouse wheel scrolls down only

For some odd reason, scrolling my mouse wheel either up or down results in a downward scroll on all Paradox games. It works fine in other windows programs like a browser but not in HOI2, HOI3 or AoD. Everything looks right in the mouse control panel but doesnt work in games.

I'm running Win7/64 with a Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse. Anyone else have this problem?

It's not just Paradox games. Entering Windows 7 mouse scrolling problem into Google yields 7,500,000 results

Thanks! I didnt think of looking it up as a Win7 problem because it works in most applications. I ended up fixing it by changing the mouse type from wireless intellimouse 2 to intellimouse 3. Much appreciated!
