I need some help. We've beem playing MP game, two players. And, as far as I know, MP games can only be saved by autosaves, so we did them monthly.

But when we wanted to reload the game, the file was sent in 100% and then the game said I can't decompress the file and it started sending it all over again. The host comp sent it completely, but then the other one couldnt decompress it at all.

Do you know how to fix it?

Thanks

Hi!

MP games definately can be saved manually.

About the decompression problem. Which version are you using? Doomsday or vanilla HoI2? If you should be using Doomsday 1.0 (or even 1.1 if I remember correctly) the compressing/decompressing problem appeared. This can be solved by installing Doomsday patch 1.2 .

If this doesn´t work or if you for some reason don´t want to install the patch, you could copy the save game manually. The save game files are located in the folder 'doomsday/scenarios/saves games'. So if your save game is called 'test' there should be two files in this folder called test.eug and test.eug.cfg . Just transfer these files from the hosts save games folder to the clients save games folder.

Hope it works and have lots of fun playing HoI in MP.
