MP game attempt Sunday 6-3

OK - it's time for the 1st annual Sunday got nothing else to do in the afternoon attempt at gettin together a MP game.

So far it's me and Faruk (we aren't long time buddies so no fear of gangin up)... both have AIM (the instant messenger, not the toothpaste) and plan to meet online around 5 or so Central US Time (sorry,not sure of GMT time).

I'm hopin to get as many as is feasable to play. A 2 man MP is kinda boring. I'm running a cable Inet and play IGC 2.1 w/the 1.08 patch.

As the old saying goes, let's run it up the flagpoll and see if anyone shows (paraphrase)...

when 1.09 1st came out, I along w/a few others tried to do a MP game w/it - nothing but troubles - 4 hours of experimenting and only 2 games of very short time length - never able to reload a game.

If you've ever read Rio's tirade under the patch 1.09 warning thread, that was our problem. Now others seem to say that the 1.09 patch hasn't affected their MP games and if i see more posts of that type I might give it a try but untill then I'm running the 1.08.

besides, I'm in the middle of a nice solo IGC 2.1/1.08 England game.

i would love to play...although i am somewhat computer iliterate a can usually navigate my way around. however, what do you mean look for us online on sunday afternoon? is there a site that i can go to? my e-mail is kargon@concentric.net thanks GrudgeBringer

White Hojo is referring to the online instant messenger program available free from AOL called AIM or Aol's Instant Messenger. When you have the program, you can see who else is online and talk to them in real time (or not, if you choose to ignore them ). Oh, and by the way, despite his reference to me above, I am actually quite a nice fellow... I simply find version 1.09 rather inadequate in a host of ways! PLay on and hope to see you on Saturday!
