After playing my first MP game I noticed that the game speed can only be adjusted to "Below Normal" which is still 2 or 3 speeds higher than SP. My newness, coupled with my pea brain, makes this speed too fast to move and command numerous units. This results in multiple stoppages of the game that distract from the flow of the game. Is there any way to slow down the speed of MP games?

Thanks

Yes. When the game is running the host can use the CTRL/- key combo to slow the speed of the game. That's hold the CTRL key down and press the keypad minus sign. You can also use CTRL/+ to speed it up again.

My preferred speed for MP play is Slow which seems to provide the best compromise between keeping the game moving and giving you enough time to think and use other screens like Diplomacy or Statistics. Others prefer a faster speed but you then often get lag and sync issues as the client PCs have more trouble keeping up with the host.
