I'm fairly new to EU, and won't give many opponents much of a chalange in a multiplayer game, but have been thinking... As there isn't currently a "matching" service for players I have been wondering if there is any interest in:

A database of players, including time zone, prefered game time, days, interest in long term continues from saves, ICQ# (with online indicator), preffered game type, version they use, etc. It's fairly simple to throw together. I don't mean to belittle the mutliplayer board here but feel a bit more comprehensive listing might be helpful.

[suggestions on fields for the dB???]

In conjuction with the player listings a single source patch library of the various versions is a must.

Comments, suggestions, flames welcome ;)

players matching service

Hi Azoic,

I am also new around and I have some of your same concerns... specifically regarding a multiplayer matching service. I have already posted here and in the wish list thread about that. It is amazing that they didnt provide something like this with the game.

I think we can play this game at www.zone.com (i dont work for them or try to promote this website I swear). These site has lots of games and also a space reserved to play games under a sort of a "fake LAN".

If you access the list of games offered by this site you will find at the end of the list a game room called LAN IPX or something like that. Now I am no expert in these issues but I know that you can play multiplayer games through these servers setting up your computer as if it were to play in a LAN! Somehow the server makes the computer believe that it is in a LAN eventhough you are playing on the internet. I played some games like this in this and other similar game servers.

I would like to know if there is anyone interested in testing this with me. I have updated to version 1.09 and I am on GMT+4 (Dubai, United Arab Emirates). If anyone is up to it i'll post my icq aswell.

People who are not registered on an EU forum should go to Gen. Suvorov's site where registration is not required and players can easily communicate on the multiplayer chat and set up a game. The address of the site is www.systemvoid.com/eu/chat.html but not many people are aware of the site and usually there are not many people there. So if more people go there, then it would be easier to set up a multiplayer game.

Looking good

Hey acetime,

The site you mentioned looks good for matchmaking. I just connected and I was there alone. I think it is probably a matter of advertising better to people that like to play multiplayer... or maybe it is just that there are not many of us around anyways !

Let's make it known!!!!!
