For now, it is single player only - however, when you can share the coordinates of the map that you pick to colonize and share that with other players. That way you can all build on the same map - it is kind of interesting to see how different each colony comes out. Not the same I know - but it is an interesting feature.

in terms of a multipalyer game should it not be an easy thing to add to the game? I can already see the two (or more) colonies spawning at the sides of the map where they have to race each other to have the most colonists most domes etc.

I wish this was something that was easy to implement - but it is something that actually is a lot harder and time consuming than it seems. Whereas multiplayer would, I'm sure, be a nice feature, at the moment single player is the only thing on the table and we have chosen to focus all of our efforts into making the single player great. However, I have noted down your interest in this and have fed it back to the team
