Multiblock Mining drill upgrades

Currently the mining of 1x1 using the drill is time consuming and tedious. Although there are explosives for demolishing large sections of land it looks messy when you have to use a lot of them.

Suggestion would be tiered drill upgrades with a radial menu similar to the one in the building mode. That lets you select a different size drill area, eg 1x1, 3x3, 5x5.

I support this suggestion.

For me it would be ok, to have 2x2 (sciecnce pack 3), 3x3 (science pack 4) and 4x4 (science pack 5) for the mechanic drill.
The laser drill should get a single area drilling research with science pack 4 in order to apply the former researches to that tool but with 3x3, 4x4 and 5x5. For all bigger holes you can use explosives easily.

Additionally it would be great to have a direction changer (vertical / horizontal) comparable to block placement (default key 'y').
Yes I can dig with the elevator too.

A potential high voltage tunnel drill machine with conveyor output (already suggested in this forum) could get rid of these researches too.
