Hello everyone!

Let's get straight to the problem. Yesterday me and my friend started a new game: he was a host and I joined the game - everythig was fine and we played several hours without issues. Today, we decided to continue our game but failed. Here are the options we tried and results:
1) Whenever my friend is the host and loads a save, I get "connection failed" error
2) Once I was the host and he managed to connect quickly, however save transfer took around 25-30 minutes and then the game desync (his game date lagged for about 7 days)
3) Now the most interesting part: when he was a host and started a new game (instead of loading a save) - I managed to connect and everything was fine.

We both have steam versions of the game with all DLCs and the same mods (actually, we've tried to turn them off - the results were the same).

So, why can I connect to host with a new game but not with a loaded save?
 
No real idea, except playing with mods enabled is always more hazardous than vanilla.

Just before you two go to play next time, both of you delete the documents/paradox/ck2/gfx/ folder, so the game recreates it - see if that helps.

And use the same language in-game if possible.
 
Thank you for quick response! The issue was solved. It seems that problem was connected with mods: we played with only one mod, but the next day we decided to turn on couple of new mods and this was the cause of issue. So it seems that all the mods should be activated before new game and then left unchanged
