Hi all,
Long time player, first time poster. Myself and 5 friends decided to start playing a weekly Stellaris match and over the last 6 months we've pretty consistantly gotten together and played. The one thing that has consistantly ruined our otherwise good time is a slew of desync issues. Over the 10-15 matches we've played each and everyone has ended in an impassible desync, usually but not always at the start of a month. We have scoured the internet for solutions and tried solutions from dibling game systems to loading with disabled AI to progress 'past the desync' just to have it desync at the next point in time. Out of all of these matches we have only twice gotten as far as the endgame crisis and with all crisis' enabled we've never gotten as far as the second before desync death.

I recall seeing a developer diary a fair while ago about them trying to address desync issues but it seems like it's still a major problem with 100% chance of breaking our matches. For now we've decided to stop playing, I'd say we've given it more than a fair go at trying to make it work. Our hopes are that these issues are lessened in the future to a playable state since we're all still very keen to play and all still love the game.

Yes, my most recent multiplayer session, all of the saves in it are corrupted somehow and return a RANDOM_COUNT desync within a month of starting.

It's getting quite annoying!

Same here. Interestingly, this has only become an issue starting in 3.14; we rarely had desyncs in 3.13, but we now have a game that is completely unrecoverable, without mods, regardless of which players join.

My group is also seeing desyncs that are difficult to solve but our issues seem (?) worse than what is reported here:

1. We have three group members. Two in GA and one in AZ.
2. I have the weakest PC with a 5600X, 32GB ram, M.2. The other computers are similar with better CPUs (7800X and 7800X3D)
3. The two GA people are on Fiber (1 Gb) and AZ is on a cable model if memory serves.
4. We run on the "cross store" option from the launcher

In general running on "Normal" speed breaks down well before MID game with at least some session ending desyncs.
