Multiplayer not working

I've bought this game specially for the Multiplayer, but the multiplayer simply doesn't work. Even the fix mentioned here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2606841 doesn't fix this problem. Any other solutions? There should be a patch made for this, because a lot of people have this problem!
