What are the settings multiplayer is usualy played with? mainly asking about the rule if you are allowed to take more than 50% of ideas from 1 mana type
Like rex said many multiplayer games have rules like this. It would be unfair to have multiple players attack the same player at the same time or breaking truces over and over etc. Many players who are in the same area may sometimes work out an agreement to who will take what to either prevent border gore or prevent un-needed wars.
The few multiplayer games I had were mostly friendly / co-operative games where players would just play together and a few where newer players were with us and people were explaining the gameplay to them when they needed advice about something.
However there are some games that I've seen online that had no rules and it was pretty much a free for all with backstabbing's and truce breakings etc. I joined a no rules game once before and got attacked by 3 players at once and pretty much left the game and never joined a no rules game again because it just takes the fun out of it unless your a pro player who can handle multiple other players or have mates you trust and you can team up with.
When it comes to the 50% of ideas rule I take it you mean the no limit on idea groups allowing you to just take military ideas etc? When it comes to this I'm guessing it depends on if the host has it selected or not? They will normally tell you what the rules are etc if any.

yes, i mean that rule. i know that the host can tell the rules to us after a play group is already assembled, but i would like to know beforehand what is more probable, so i can brainstorm a little bit my strategy before joining a game
