Music through Winamp

I was about to post this problem when I luckily fixed it. I hadn't found the solution while looking around the forum, so you might find it useful.

I'm trying to play the music through Winamp as other people have done on the Discussions forum. However, when I start EUII while Winamp is already playing, I get this error message:

>> Critical Error!
EU has encountered a problem with your sound card. Please obtain and install the latest sound drivers from the sound card manufacturer. If the problem persists, contact the technical support. <<

What I did to fix it was go into Winamp's preferences, pick plug-ins, then output, and chose DirectSound output instead of Winamp2 waveOut. The music from Winamp and EUII played at the same time, which sounded rather odd. However, after disabling the music from EU2_Settings.exe, it works great!

Yup it is because EU2 uses Directsound.

Waveout makes Winamp the only app able to access the sound device, so just always use DirectSound.
