I dont think you can. The game would probably crash trying to look for an event sound file.

Dowbnload the MP3s of the music files - burn to CD. Turn your speakers down, put the CD in a CD player.

You could try going into the EU Folder (Inside Paradox Entertainment) and deleting the "sfx" Folder. Let us know what happens.....

Just delete the specific combat sounds and run the game, when it asks if you wanna continue, could not find this and that file, just push continue.
I think it will work... :)

Horrible, plain horrible. Once in the middle of a BB war with France (No, I don't know what happened to Thüringen, Würtemberg, Pommerania, Hanseatic League, Denmark, Brandenburg, Hessen, Saxony, Hannover, Savoy, Milan, Genoa, Kleves, Cologne, Lorraine, Baden, the Palatinat, Austria, Hungary, Bavaria, Helvetia, Prussia and Bohemia if someone happens to ask) I was attacked from all directions. I paused the game to think for a while, but the eigth battles raging on the screen made a noise so diabolical that I really needed to yell. Thank Heavens my hand managed to reach the speakers' on/off switch before I went berserk.
