My game keeps quiting

Hello, I was glad to see someone else actually plays this game
my question is why does my game keep quiting? I've watched it and it quits at random times and i have only two theories as to why this happens.
1. my cd is in kinda poor condition and as the game requires the cd to run i think maybe it quits becuase it hits an unreadable spot
2. a bug in the game

any andvice is greatly appreciated.

ohh and my game is version 1.07c

this game has nevr left the hard drive of my computer since i bought it years ago

Does it give an error message?

If it needs the CD to run, then the CD being scratched might make it fail - I have the Gamersgate version which of course doesn't need the CD. Also a more recent patch might possibly help?

Paradox games are notorious for 'random' CTDs... definitely recommend getting the last patch (1.10).

Indeed - Paradox older games were somewhat unstable, so playing with autosave on it's most frequent setting used to be a must to not loose too much.

But patching up to 1.10 should reduce the amount of crashes and hopefully smooth out the game a little in general. (At least it won't hurt)

I sory about my late reply.

About the patch, the problem is that the computer i play on most of the time does not have an internet connection . So i wonder, is it possible to put the pach on a cd and then on my computer? My computer knowlege does not go very far.

Advice and anwers are, as always, greatly appreceated .

Yes, should be easy to do. Easiest option is probably to put it on a usb stick.
