- delete these Folders manually: Cities_Skylines, 255710

What actually happens when you do a manual save? Any error?

Does it make any difference if it is a Steam Cloud or local save?

Please gather both these two informational files, and attach them here:

...\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities Skylines\Cities Data\output_log.txt

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Thank you Andrew for your reply!

When I try to save manually, in the right top corner the savings font appears for about two secs and disappears again (no packaging process). There is no error pop up whatsoever and it makes no difference if I try to save local or via steam :/

UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path "C:\Users\Shadow\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\continue_game.json" is denied.
Almost certainly your antivirus app is getting in the way. Add cities.exe to all its exceptions lists, and make sure it is not doing realtime scans of that folder.

All the best!

Hmm that are all my exclusions from my antivirusapp. is there something I need to add?

I can't read that language I'm afraid, but that looks generally okay. That is windows defender, is that right?

You might also need to look into WD's Ransomware-Controlled folder Access function, the Apps Allowed Through list in particular.

Yes I only use Windows Defender. I looked into the WD Ransomeware settings, and controlled folder access is disabled. Tried to enable it, and added cities and steam to the allowed through folder, but unsuccessfull...

It is definitely the case that something is barring the game from accessing those files and folders. That can only be Windows Defender, some other AV app, or a Windows file system problem.

I don't know what AV app you have there in post #5 but you might check with them that cities.exehas full RW access to everywhere; some AV apps have more than one exclusion list.

Sorry Andrew for the late reply, but thanks a lot for your help. Unfortunatly I tried everything but I dont get my game to work again, so i think i have nothing left but to give up ://

but thank you for trying to help me out!

Best regards,
David

Did you check with that AV app's support for help with this?
