I can't actually remember whether it was a reddit or a forum post that said that a character's location on the map should matter much more than it did in CK2, and I agree fully, because in CK2, character location only really mattered for commanders and councillors, and it was extremely unrealistic and baffling that a character could teleport from Ireland to Jerusalem in a blink of an eye. I think it would be very cool and good for rp if character's locations were a much bigger factor in CK3
 
Yep. And worth realizing that "single character" largely does not apply to a medieval ruler, who will be attended by their court and retinue almost always. Having said that, they would be expected to move a little quicker than a full sized army and its baggage train.

On the other hand, less exalted courtiers might be able to move a bit faster. As much as dozens of miles per day...

Would be happy with courts and individuals using sea movement rates, though. Would not expect a Fleet to be required, though I'd like to see some chance of disaster at sea; several shipwrecks had significant effects on the turn of European history when heirs or fiancées were lost in transit.
