Pommerania Prince,

You are correct of course... But, you must remember the difference between core provinces and controlled provinces. Core provinces in enemy control gives a CB, which means that Brandenburg is more likely to expand in that direction, which is historically accurate. Call it an AI incentive.

weird god,

I am no expert on Venetian history, but other players have mentioned that Venice had a renowned wharf called the 'Arsenale' in Venice itself. Maybe Ragusa provided the raw materials, but I suspect that the ship industry resided in Venice.

Rogan,

The patch only changes a couple of data files. It will not affect your save games.

Hartmann, my tireless crusader brother in arms, I would be honoured to (further) enrich the patch with your work. Just e-mail me at doomdark@ludd.luth.se

Hmm growth or no growth, 'AI incentive' or not, I can't support that at all..

Well, remember that Poland, somewhat dubiously, has Eastern Pommerania, Kurland, Livonia and Estonia as core provinces. This is not just a matter of nationality, but of Casus Belli and growth direction. Of course, with 1.06 you get rebellions in conquered non-core provinces, so the question we should ask ourselves is if said provinces would be satisfied with Brandenburgian rule.

Lastly, remember that there is nothing to stop a province from being a core province for several nations. (Which is the case here.)

Guys just make sure you're understood next time around, because some people were uncertain (including me) as to how exactly and to what purpose you edited the said provinces.

Sorry for the confusion, but I really tried to explain the difference between core provinces and controlled provinces to Pommerania Prince in one of my first replies. Also, I clearly motivated this core province business as intended 'to encourage growth in the right directions'.

I shall remove 'Western Prussia' as a Brandenburgian core province, but I will let the others be for now.

Hmm, this discussion makes me wonder if all the tiny German states should perhaps have all German provinces as core provinces... Same for the Italian states... ;)

In 1492, It's like giving Turkey, a casus belli on Krakow, or Sweden a casus belli on Livonia. Absolute madness

But, Sapura, I reiterate: this is for example the case with Poland and Kurland, Livonia and Estonia. :)

I was thinking that if anything ****s up(excuse the language) i can just re nstal the thing huh??
and it should work fine??

Sure thing. It's a very simple patch really, it only overwrites some of the game's configuration files.

IF I also give Cyclades as a province to Venice (no additional country, definitely): Does anyone know, whether this would affect the revolting of Greece? At the moment the Cyclades are territory, which might join a rebellion and I don´t know whether such territories may include provinces outside Turkey or whether the game will crash on us then.....

I agree that the Cyclades should be given to Venice. It will not affect the revolt of Greece, except that if the Cyclades are still in Venetian hands they can not join the new state. It also sounds as if Ragusa should be vassal to the Ottomans...

However, I would be cautious about placing a new wharf in Thrace. Do we know for certain that this copy of the Arsenal existed in 1492?

Shouldn't Massachusetts be one of the provinces required to rebel for the US to form? And shouldn't 'Manhattan' not be, since this area was actually fairly loyalist?

Well, probably, the thing is just to keep the minimum number of provinces small and bordering each other. They should also be located in areas that are colonized eary on. Would Connecticut and Massachusetts be better?

Savant,

I did not ignore your post, but you must have missed my answer:

I also noticed that sveeral of the changes involved features that Sweden could actually acquire on it's own - like technologies.

Sweden was the only country in the world with tech 0/0/0/0. Aside from my very, very modest tech boost, what features exactly are you talking about?

The early CoT in Stockholm IS unbalancing, no doubt about it, the problem is just that I can't find a good way around it. I've played and played, but the CoT never appears by itself...
