Greetings. Here are my thoughts both good and bad. I will start with positive first.
1. Smooth launch, no issues with crashes, etc. for me
2. I like that the game emphasizes exploration more and AI is not blocking all your lands like you see in the Stellaris or Star Trek New Horizons (Stellaris Mod)
3. I like the Mission Tree as a concept but may need work as shown below
4. I am glad it isn't overly complex and friendly to people that did not own Stellaris
Advice to development team/needs
1. I think the factions should start with at least two ship classes. For Federation, Miranda and Excelsior make most sense with Miranda being Frigate and Excelsior being Destroyer class from Stellaris framework. It is also very HARD to unlock new ship classes. I have 100 tech and only have Miranda and Intrepid classes so far (2-classes)
2. Some of the Missions for Federation are confusing and brutal, notably the ones to unlock Troi and Crusher
3. Not enough Minor factions... this is Star Trek, give them to us. I do think most of them should be 1-system stagnant (or all of them) to prevent spam blocking exploration
4. Not enough impactful events
5. AI factions don't do much, AI needs work. Basically the three other AI factions have just sat there most the game with little activity
6. Romulan Supernova Optional (personal preference here but I hated that story arc in Star Trek and would love to have it optional)
7. Ability to have smaller/larger maps - I think this one is coming
8. Cerritos only spawned in my first tutorial game. I pre-ordered so I thought I should have it every game. In my second game as Federation, if never spawned
9. USS Enterprise D cannot be upgraded and it falls behind quickly on strength compared to other ships as a result
10. Improved Tutorial: I figured this out but it would be great to have a tutorial for Stellaris players to explain only new content (i.e. Governors and Spies)
11. Governors and Spies: I feel these are weak. Not being able to do missions from Galaxy screen is frustrating. You have to go into solar system, find enemy structure, and do mission for spy. Governors are even more micromanaged with planets and they costs influence. I find myself just deleting the Governors to save on influence costs
