Download: http://www.2shared.com/file/stM576OU/Napoleon_1936.html

Installation orders:
1. Create a fresh copy of your HOI 2 game (this mod is for Armageddon 1.3, but I don't see why it shouldn't be compatible with other versions)
2. Copy the rar file's content into your fresh install folder
3. Play the game

Features:
-156 events (and counting!) that will twist the original 1936 scenario into something completely different, including alliances, early wars and of course - the main, great war.
-New and improved AI for many, many countries, to better adapt them to the new scenario

To-do list:
-polish the AI and add events
-add surrender events for the main war

Hello everybody,

I've started working on a new mod. Basically, France falls to a paternal autocrat regime, abandons its alliance with the UK and causes a different kind of WW2.

I thought it'd be interesting to take a single, gigantic leader and his puppets and place that country against a coalition consisting of any other superpower in the world.

If this idea interests anyone - you're more than welcome to offer your help, if you can make events or edit the AI files.

there's one catch, however - I'm drafting this Thursday, so anyone who helps me on this will have to take the lead when I'm gone, assuming we aren't finished by then (and we probably won't be).

Just to tease you guys, here are the main outlines for the sides of the war (the map - courtesy of Wikimedia):

France is dark blue, her allies/puppets on bright blue.
Green is the coalition that fights France.
I know I haven't painted lots of colonies and islands etc. please no comments such as "but you didn't paint mumbojumbo island".

As you can see, France helps building up a new Greater Poland, Confederate States and incites an Indian revolution against Britain. Also, Britain's main free colonies defected to France, to balance out the sides.

Hi everybody,

I'm reporting on my progress. Editing the AI files and events wasn't as hard as I thought, and things are moving forward. here is a picture from my current test game as France. You can see Spain was puppeted, the low countries were annexed and a puppet state in Southern Germany was created following Germany's loss in the Franco-German war of 1938.

I had this weekend off, so I polished out the game and added overall better playability. The main achievement is the heavily-enhanced French AI, that works better with the mod.

The download for V1.1 has been added to the first post.

Uh... I am not sure if I like what I see. I mean, what is the story behind this? As I see so far it is some sort of Napoleon staying in power and perhaps the Bonaparte Dynasty is up to something a hundred years later... or is it his descendants gaining power? If the former is the case, how did Central Europe end up the same way as irl if I assume WWI did not happen (or did it? and how?)? What is the Soviet Union doing there? Why is Syria french territory? Why is there Iraq (nation irl formed by league of nations spitting on tribal and religious boundaries?)? Hell... and a lots of more questions I don't need to ask

Up to 1936, everything was the way it was. But by that time, very much like the Germans, the French grow frustrated with their weak government and falling status as a superpower. Therefore, a new authoritarian regime is established, led by a king. That king is neither the original Napoleon nor his descendant, it's just a royalist France with Napoleonic influences, hence the name of the mod. I suggest trying the mod before criticizing it judging by a border map.

Umm, no... criticism and asking questions are two separate things, since as yourself said that former comes after playing and thus latter is beforehand, just as I did. Would this thing go over to Darkest hour, anyway? Huh, a few years have passed...
