The Pandemic Hegemony

Go to the folder that has your savegame folders. In that folder, as a separate file not in any sub-folder is a file called user_empire_designs . Cut and paste the above empire into this file at the end. This will add The Hegemony to your game. Open Stellaris and enable the Hegemony to appear as an AI empire in a new game. And have at it, Hoss.

Actually it would be nice to have a better way to integrate other player empires into your new game screen than this copy pasta and "mods"

Also this file is not indexed when in it concerns ironman nor the checksum so there is no risk with altering this file. in fact it can be exploited

As far as I can tell the custom empire ethics, and traits are only checked during in game edit and during in game save on the empire designer. Further you can decompress a save file and directly edit the races and countries within but that runs the risk of a corrupt save if you screw something up
 
Good lord. If sharing custom species/empires is a usermod, then everytime a player creates a custom empire and talks about it in a thread, then that's a usermod too. Doesn't change the checksum; a person who makes a bug report doesn't have to report that they are using a game created custom empire in their bug report do they?

I am disgusted with this move, and with the fact that virtually every advertised feature in Stellaris either doesn't work, or has a ham-fisted GUI interface.

Good luck. I should delete the three bug reports and three suggestions I've made to improve the game. Just don't care any more.

I'm familiar with the paradox development cycle. This is the last effing straw. You don't put something into a usermod forum which isn't a usermod. Amateur hour. Point of this thread was to share custom empires which we create in game and do not change the checksum and, maybe, if we are lucky, get paradox to implement a feature. Put the thread into a usermod forum and it kills both possiblities.

It would also be cool to play a game with entirely user-created empires (only the best please). It would still NOT be a 'usermod.'

Yes they moved the thread from general discussions to usermods. Sharing custom empires isn't a 'mod' in any sense of the word. It doesn't alter any game parameters or interface, and doesn't change the checksum.

Ok, I can kinda see where you are coming from now. That being said, you DID have a neat idea here. Sad to see it squashed. I would have liked to add more species to my game.

yep, unlike eu 4 the ironman saves are not encrypted. That will probly come later when they do not need to easily access save files to follow up on bug reports


Indeed this should not of been moved to the mods forum. But aren't most of those with mod powers on the forums not paradox employees and thus more likely not paradox's fault for this?

You can make your custom made species into a mod by:

1. create a mod
2. make a "prescripted_countries" folder in it
3. copy over your user_empire_designs.txt
4. rename it something unique, maybe with your username in it
5. make sure each race is set to "spawn_enabled=always"
6. publish it, add screenshots, etc.

Much simpler once you get into dozens of people than each person copy-pasting each others races. Your way is fine if you just want to share a couple races privately between friends.
