I am having several problems with EU II and while attempting to follow your guideline (Support Forum FAQ and Self-Help Guide (Updated) - Start Here!) I uninstalled the game and now can't get it to re-install.

I followed your guideline in regards to deleting the system registry, etc. but setup keeps telling me EUII is already installed on my computer and shuts down.

On top of my other problems (game crashes, inability to save, etc.) this is becoming mighty frustrating. Any help would be much appreciated.

If you are trying to install the original version from the CD and the system is telling you that EU2 is already installed then you have not deleted all the EU2 stuff from your registry. please look at those instruction again, also make sure you delete all the files associated with EU2 as well.

If this second try does not work then I will need your full system specs.

I have deleted the Europa Universalis key

However, I could never find the InstallShield directory that was mentioned on my computer. InstallShield is on my computer, but there is no "InstallShield Installation Information".

Though, I am not sure what is meant by "change folder options on you PC to show hidden files". I am able to view all my program and window files, so if there is something else that needs to be done to access hidden files can you elborate.

Otherwise all EU files are deleted and my computer specs are:

Pentium 4 1700Mhz
256 Ram
Windows XP
DirectX 9.0b

Folder options-View-Hiden Files and folders.
Make sure "show hiden files and folders" is selected.

When you go to add/remove programs, is EU2 listed?

What publisher version of the game do you have?
Their logo will be on the CD.

I bought the game with the "Conquest Pack" bundle. The logos of Paradox and Stragety First are on the CD.

Fyi, the CD appears to be damaged somehow. Certain portions won't install correctly and I am unable to save without crashing. The unistall issue happened only recently when I was attempting to solve those problems. There doesn't appear to be any scratches on the cd.

Hmm, I am unaware of that package.

I would suggest that you contact Strategy First as they write the install for their versions and would be better able to assist you.

No problem, sorry it could not have been more.
Keep me posted

Well as much as I'd like to blame tech support, it turns out I made some of the mistakes (no surprise to any tech guy I bet)

I deleted the Paradox registry key, but not the Strategy First (doh).

It turns out that my version comes with the latest patch, and so when I tried to install the patch it may have corrupted things. Additionally, I only looked at Paradoxes website, while Strategy First had a patch that would fix the save issue for the Conquest Pack.

However, the problems I am having with the scenario editor and the three other games (Ind. Europe and stuff) they couldn't help me with. I gave em my e-mail address and they said they'd get back to me.

Well I am glad you got the Paradox games back up and running.
