Hi.

I have been playing a game of AGCEEP for the last couple of weeks that is shaping up to be one of the most amazing games ever for me from the perspective of the number of "B" and "C" choices that the AI has made over the course of it.

I started playing as BUR with the goal of maximizing the number of cores and cultures for it and eventually inheriting SPA, and I was working towards this when I noticed that the Wittelsbachs had become hereditary Kings of Bohemia...

Well, that was enough to distract me from my other goal. Besides BUR was building up a truly horrific BB score by that point (alright I was being a VERY, VERY bad boy), and I was justly fearing the gang DoW that was coming; so I switched to playing Bavarohemia and left BUR to its' fate. And that was not long in coming..it was ugly, vicious and incredibly short.

What I would like to know is there a way to take a saved game and convert it to a scenario? Or is it just better to leave it as a saved game and share it that way? And would it be something that people might want to play other then myself?

The reason being is that over the course of the game things have been very aberrated: POR ceased to exist when it was absorbed by SPA. The Stuarts are still ruling ENG and there was no civil war. And BYZ is still chugging along in 1706. There are a few other deviations such as no Denmark, a sizable Ireland including Brittany, and Russia at one point held all of Norway but lost it to a Palatinate that apparently been eating their wheaties.

I think you have choosen wrong forum. ;)

nah.. I figured the guys I have been chatting with about aberration would have the best intel on how to do it if it could be done. ;)

And considering the deviations from the norm that the AI went with in what is an expanded vanilla game I also thought that they may get a kick out of it.

Basically, save game is just a scenario put in a save game directory. Basically. Because no sane person would make a single file scenario - it is REALLY difficult to modify it.

Usually scenario consists of:

EUG scenario file with list of selectable nation, alliances, dynastic marriages,et cetera, et cetera AND list of events, inc and other FILES included in scenarion.

INC files is "country files". They list what provinces each country have, what techs, monarch, ai file and so on.

EVENT files, includes events, it is obvious.

AI files for each (most? some?) countries.

SAVE GAME consits of ONE file, which includes all the above except the event files and ai files.

IMHO - it is terribly long and boring work to make a scenario file from save game file. Distribute an edited save game.

Please do mind that since it is AGCEEP the events are coded to nations and not province ownership. You are risking all of portugal territories that she woudl get via events to go uncontested.

yeah, I thought of that during the game and dealt with it via keying the events from the nation that was in the region at the right time for the events.

I really wish that they would do more scripting by province and less by nation for some of the events! If say..SWE is in the IO at the time then they should be the ones that get the oppurtunity.
