I'm having an issue where once I've created my civilization, set up the parameters for the game-play (i.e. galaxy size and number of civilizations), and I click the "play" button, the game goes into the loading screen and stays that way. The map of the galaxy never shows up. It stays loading with the mouse cursor a solar system spinning endlessly.. I've sat and waited for 45 minutes to an hour and the loading screen remains.

I have downloaded Stellaris successfully, installed it successfully, and verified the cache. I've reinstalled it, restarted Steam, my PC, and ran Steam in admin mode. I've turned my firewall off, reduced the screen resolution, and switched from full screen to window mode. None of these things have resolved the issue.

My PC is a Sager laptop with the following specs:

Operating System: Windows 7 64 bit
Graphics Card: Nividia GeForce GTX 980M
CPU: Intel Core i7 @ 2.8Ghz
Ram: 16GB

I for the life of me cannot figure out how to fix this issue. Any tips and help from the community is greatly appreciated.

I have this same issue as of now, the game worked fine until about 3 days ago. (The few days afer inital release) Now the game does this...they must have broken sometihng when they tried to fix something else. The game however plays fine still on my work cpu. My home cpu specs; Vista 64 / Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 896MB / Intel i7 920 / 9 GB DDR3 (yes 9 LOL)
