New Aberration MP game

Hi All,

We've got a five-six player game starting in about a month or so, and we're at the stage of choosing which countries will be playable.

At the moment the list of seven eligible countries are:
Byzantium, Eire, Finland, Genoa, Granada, Scotland, Ukraine.

Seeing as we're all pretty new at Aberration, I was wondering whether this list is reasonably balanced?

The thing about Aberration is that a great many nations are fully capable powers. The unfortunate result is that in MP some people are going to be destroyed. But anyways, if I was gonna make a list of playables....

Genoa, Sicily, Burgundy, Brittany, Eire, Granada, Kaliphate, Mamelukes, Hungary, Byzantium, Ukraine, Teutonic Order, Bavaria, Hanseatic League, Finland, Union of Kalmar, Scotland, and to some degree Swabia.

For such a small game, I suggest....Brittany/Burgundy, Eire, Granada, Bavaria/Hansa/Swabia, Genoa, Hungary/Byzantium, Ukraine, and the Kaliphate.

Scotland
Sicily

Hungary

Can anyone suggest whether or not there is an obvious flaw in the arrangement? Specifically one nation that is more powerful or less powerful than the others?

Depends, do you want conflict with each other right away, or spend yourselves out. UoK and scotland are going to go at it right away. (UOK has cores on Scotlands vassal) If you want to be as spread out as it seems you want to be, move the UoK or Scotland to Grenada or Burgandy, other then that, looks decently balanced

Do you homestly feel that Burgundy and Grenada are a power match for Scotland?

I would have thought these two are in a different league, being both much richer with better events and ledership.

Apart from that, yes, we did want to get a balance of country that would have causes for conflict, as well as for cooperation (Scot and UoK against Hansa, for example).
