ok, we are beginning a new campaign with the crew from last game. We need 2 players :

Brandenburg (filled by fraese)
Poland or Austria (jamala will play either of them)

While the sign-up is in the Newbie thread, we don't consider it to be a Newbie game anymore ;)

You can see all info here : New campaign
Check out from post 1191 to the end to see if this game interest you. This will be a RP related game, so it might not be for everyone.

edit :

some technical questions :

Start date : august 31.

Session time : wednesday at 17 GMT.

----------------------------------------------------------

edit no.2 : Here's the info for the lazy people :)

New campaign : "Dynasties of the Newbies".

This campaign is based on the RP-system I've already talked about. Cobjor took this idea and the examples of Dr Bob and built a good set of possible actions that the monarchs could make.

The GMs will be myself and Cobjor. I didn't asked Dr Bob yet, but he might be there also to help with the task.

Starting date : 31 August.

Day of play : wednesday at 17 GMT (4 hours)

------------------------------------------------------------------

Monarchs :

Each player needs to create 4 monarchs :

- Background : Example:

Kurt the bastard (from Cobjor)

"Kurt was youngest of the kings seven sons and a bastard. Due some mysterios accidents, all of Kurts older brothers died and when the beloved king died of old age, Kurt was chosen to be king. Because of this and due to being a bastard, Kurt was never really accepted by the other royals of Europe and the nobels of his country. Not that Kurt cared for them either. No, Kurt interest lay in to conquer what was rightfully his by birth and to be independent. For that, he needed a strong army. To have a strong army, he needed money. And money he would get someway.

Which in gameplay will mean: Will go put a lot of efforts into expansion until got them. Ally only when it is necessary. Do not meddle into to affairs far away. Invest in landtech, have a big army. DP-clicks will be land and
less aristocatry. "

Personally , I'm probably create some religious fanatics, some warfare guy and etc...

Skills :

1) DIP : Range 0-9 : 3 four sided dice (so 0 1 and 2 are impossible). 10-11 and 12 are rounded down to 9.
2) ADM : Range 0-9 : 3 four sided dice + 1 (so 0 1 and 2 are impossible). 10-11 and 12 are rounded down to 9.
3) MIL : Range 0-9 : 3 four sided dice (so 0 1 and 2 are impossible). 10-11 and 12 are rounded down to 9.

Also, I'm gonna roll an additional 4 sided dice. The result from this dice can be applied anywhere on this monarch.

Example :

2-1-4 = 7 for DIP
3-2-3 = 8 +1 = 9 for ADM
1-1-3 = 5 for MIL

3 on the bonus dice. I decide to apply 3 on MIL which gives me a 7-8-8 monarchs.

Those monarchs will be the monarchs you have in-game. Of course this will change the game (no Louis XIV), but hey, this is not the normal game!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Dynasties :

so, for the 1st session, we roll to see which monarchs gonna lead your nations. after the 1st session :

30% chances that this monarchs will die (until he returns later)

after 2 session with same monarch :

60% chances that this monarchs will die

after 3 sessions :

95% chances

after 4 sessions :

He die from old age.

So, when the monarch dies, we roll to see which one will be his successor (equal chances for all 3 remaining monarchs).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Actions :

Each week, between session, each player can attempt to do a action that will influence the world. Those actions aren't too powerful in my opinion and they add some flavors. The system will be as follow :

Each week you have a base amount of actions-ducatrs (AD) that gives you the chances to attempt a moderate actions

(the actions aren't scaled yet). By contributing with AAR (or by writing a nice introduction to your actions), you earn some more AD.

For now, Cobjor developped a set of actions. Those actions are from his mind and from Dr Bob mind. Here's is 2 examples of actions that can be attempted :

It belongs to me!
With the help of a fabricated line of succession, a false testament, a wellpaid lawyer, and some ducats, almost any ruler could get "evidence" to support his claim to a province. Claims that often gave bad relations to other nations. Effect: You get a shield on the province in question and 1 BB-point.

Encourage emigration

Rulers sometimes encouraged or even paid people to move from a province to a colony. However, emigration was a hard thing to administrate and many of those who left never maid it to their new home.
Effect: One of your provinces get less population, and you get some colonists OR some more population in one of your colonies. Normal cost: Well, how many would you like to emigrate? How far away? And to which place?

As it is now, we have around 25 possible actions.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quests :

We have also quests! Those quests can be attempted during the game. Some of them have restriction, some not. The rewards aren't set in stone to encourage commitment by players. also, this will allow us to give fair rewards that will be function of the cost involved by the quests. for example, if you pay a country so you're able to fullfill the quests you gonna have way less (if none) rewards than if you attack the same country to fulfill the quests.

Here's one example from the 20 quests we have developped (some are for every country and some are for specific country) :

Free Jerusalem!
In the 15th and 16th century, many christian rulers dreamed about the glory and perhaps wealth that came with the control over Jerusalem.
Requirement: To take on the quest, you must rule a christian country and the province of Jordan must be controlled by a muslim state. This quest can only be fulfilled once.
Objective: To own or control (as a vassal), the province of Jordan for at least 15 years.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, so, ask questions and everything! Sign-up for those interested. The choices of country can be made now. However, I'm gonna consider those choices only when your 4 monarchs are created.

Also, be aware that this game is strongly RP related. There won't be bad or good moves in terms of RPing. However, some consistency should be there.

Hope you have fun!
