Robo

You might want to include this in the scenario forum. Add more colors!

I'll try it straight away.

How's the weather down south? Rather nice today up in Bucktown.

It looks excellent, great work. Now, anyone got an idea if we can expand the number of colors used in the game or change the colors nations get assigned?

The change in green did change Portugal's color, and the colors in the diplomatic relations view. But, I prefer the original colors which you reverted to in the latest download.

Thanks. Yes, my Green tweaking was not changing the color I wanted changed; Turkey and Portugal were being changed instead. I haven't been able to change the Dark Green (like Hungary) but it's not that bad as is.

Some of the colors in that file are used for terrain effects - some for nationality colors - and it looks like some are used for both.

Weather's nice all over Chicago today.

I thought the new Dark Brown was a little jarring to my taste - magenta'ish didn't seem right. After a few experiments, I went with the colors that are used for the Genoa CoT. Seems to be nice. The Dark Brown settings I used are:

dark brown;;;
red;green;blue;index
255;0;64;0
220;0;64;10
180;0;64;24
76;0;64;64

Don't know whether there are any side affects.

What a relief to get rid of the sea of orange in central Europe. Thanks!

Robo: I liked the Cyan very much, but not the Purple, which I changed back to the original Brown for the time being. Another idea would be to transmogrify the original Orange into Amber.

BTW, Robo.

Your getting a lot of downloads collected at that place of yours.
However, your not even allowed to browse the directory.
Would you like me to make you a webpage with all those downloads linked ?
Nothing fancy, just to make it easier for people to find your stuff.

OK, so I had some to kill, and decided to make more changes. Of course, it is a waste of time, and everybody has different estethics, anyway. I did accidently make some changes that actually add some consistency (shallow justification for time wasting). Except for Russia, all "official" majors have a brightness to them, while the minors are all dull. These changes continue that while giving Russia a bit of brightness. (big deal :) )

The olive green used for Hungary and others is not in this file - sigh, I would like to lighten it a bit, maybe give it a blue'ish tinge.

There don't seem to be any unexpected consequences with these colors.

Here goes:

Dark grey countries on diplomacy screen. A bit too dark.
- lightened a bit

grey;;;
red;green;blue;index
195;195;195;0
145;145;145;15
70;70;70;40
100;100;100;64

Dark brown countries on diplomacy screen. Way to dark.
- made a burgundy-red'ish
- magenta'ish in Robo's original version

dark brown;;;
red;green;blue;index
255;0;64;0
220;0;64;10
180;0;64;24
76;0;64;64

Orange countries on diplomacy screen. Way to bright and unfortunately positioned.
- made a dark green-blue
- cyan in Robo's original version

light orange;;;
red;green;blue;index
0;180;150;0
0;150;125;10
0;120;100;24
0;70;60;64

Russia on diplomacy screen and Orthodox religion on Religion screen. Too dark.
- much lighter.

brown;;;
red;green;blue;index
240;240;170;0
180;160;100;20
120;80;30;50
90;60;10;64
