I want to modify the IGC in order to add a revolter to create Quebec as a separate country in North America after 1730s (using the PFR tag). Do I only need to add it in the revolt.txt file ? Or is there a place in the actual campaign file that needs to be edited ? I guess you'll need a leader/monarch files too ... and that means IDs... more complicated that I thought.

Adding a revolter is easier than adding a starter, but on the other hand without monarchs/leaders and shields/flag it will look quite uncool... I want to warn You about the FPR tag. I used the ROY tag (which is of similar function) for Serbia and just discovered, that this tag doesn´t want to revolt outside of England. Could be the same with FPR and France...

Second thoughts

Hi Hartman

alright so perhaps I should use another one. I've already modified your IGC to make Brandeburg as a great power (want to create the Greater German Reich) and was thinking about annexing Saxony to Brandeburg (otherwise its hard as hell to get any money to expand) but didnt know what to do with the now free tag of SAC.

So I would need to use some of France's leaders (basically all of those coming after 1700 say - and that I know were Exp/Conq in America at the time ? Can you have leaders in the French file that goes from ID 2140 - jumping to 2160 because you've removed those 20 to put into the modified SAC file ? Or do you have to reorder them (2060 becoming 2041 and so on) ?

thanks

I've been tinkering with EIR leaders and from what I have gathered the order of ID's does not matter, they can be all over the place...I'll have to look at the file again but is there a way to dictate a preferred starting location for a new leader?

Also, in the leader files there is a rank associated with each leader from 0 - 8; is this just a command rank ie general, field marshall etc. OR does it have a more significant impact ie a higher rank giving a greater chance to succeed in a task etc...

Rank actually goes all the way down to 14 (I think). The problem is anything below 5 will appear on the screen as Brigadier, so you can't really get lower to Colonel or Captain. AFAIK this doesn't affect anything.
The starting location can be edited (location = ...), ) is default meaning home province. Can change that to whatever you want.
