New Game - Looking for Dedicated North American Players with Fast Connections

This game will be played in 1492. Unless my new amplifier will work I think it would be best that someone other than me hosts. We will be playing at 1=2 so I apologize that you are not welcome to this game if you have a slow or laggy connection. All players will need to have cable/DSL. Europeans are welcome to the game if they are stable. No one likes crashes and no one likes lag so these measures have been taken to prevent it.
The selectable nations will be as follows:

1. Spain
2. France
3. England
4. Austria
5. Ottoman Empire
6. Portugal
7. Poland
8. Sweden
9. Denmark
10. Venice
11. Russia
12. Brandenburg

WELL, if Alcy's in as brand, then I should definately get myself in... I'll take Denmark or Sweden, not sure which yet...
 
LG, you and Brandenburg will only mean war in Europe. :p

If you bring in Brandenburg in a game, then be prepared for several germanic wars over Bohemia and other provs. France was able to take advantage of the situation and seize the Dutch Netherlands from Austria in the game I am in.

In either case I would be intrested in playing,but with HOI coming out in a few days, I won't be playing EU for awhile. Some of us are gearing up for HOI MP and we need to get to know the nations we plan on playing.

I am having some afterthoughts about Brandenburg since there is also Venice and there will be an Austrian player. Do LG or Quietus mind switching?

edit\ LG, thank you for switching to France. Quietus, you will get to keep Venice.

I would recommend Sweden as they are more important as time goes by and I am trying to get attention out of Germany.

If you need another player count me in. I am from Europe though but I think PE knows that I have a quite good connection from MGC4.
 
True, but Sweden starts off as a vassal.. if I break vassalage, my -2 stab goes to -3 and he gets a CB on me...

...but Denmark will be AI and cakewalk so even if they do get a cb you can whip them. If you insist you can still be Denmark, but there will be some serious misbalance in Germany.


@Quietus, I am considering giving Venice some shields over Italian culture provinces to thwart French, Austrian, and Spanish ambitions there.

Well, occording to Alcy (LG) he's not going to use Brandenburg..

I'm still not sure whether Sweden or Denmark would be best, but if he does go with Brandenburg, then I'll definately go with Sweden...

I suggest that if there is no Brandenburg player that Denmark being given "German" in addition to "Scandinavian", to offset Brandenburg being AI...

Historically, Denmark did inter-marry with Oldenburg and Bremen and annexed Holstein, so it's not really much of stretch.

Alcy is playing France. I don't think Denmark having German culture is a good idea. If there is Austria, France, and possibly Poland then Germany is crowded enough. It is up to you to decide what nation you play, but their cultures will stay how they are.
 
As per your sig, Dynokeg is a good host.
 
The Scenario file with modifications to Sweden and Venice (Baltic culture for Sweden and Italian shields for Venice) is downloadable here.

You must put this in your scenarios directory (NOT your save game directory) if you wish to participate in this campaign.
 
Well if you still miss a player and need a Spain I am in for it.

Sounds good, my overall strategy will indeed be keeping those bastards in check ;)
Just put the CBs on parts of Italy I guess..... if you are going for realism - as for example Naples was as distinct from Venice as Spain, but northern Italy - especially because Tirol and other Austrain states take away from actual territory held by the Venetians at their height - and make the Pope a good challenge in case the Venetians get too Athiestic :D

Download the scenario that can be found in the first post of this thread. I have already added your shields... but of course if you don't like your shields I can take them away:p

Ahhhhhhhhh, Eugene, my University firewall is a mound of abhorent excretion! It allows games like warcraft III battlenet, but I haven't been able to log into a game on Valkyrienet :mad: If worse comes to worst I may just have to serve as a backup player from Dec.10-Jan.6 (when I return home) unless of course you have suggestions...

We didnt decide to play in another game, it was already set up, we just were unaware of THIS GAME'S time frame.
