Hive and the Denmark BumbleBees

Hi Hive,

I'm one of Hive's Bumblebees. We are a select elite group that cherish maturity, solid gameplay and respect during our games. Does this mean its a stagnant atmosphere with no humour? No my friends, we have a blast.
If your into committing to a full campaign (that should not be taking lightly....its like saying you want a dog...then not walking it or cleaning it's poop after) and are a sensible, polite player please answer and join us.
I'm joining and am from Toronto,Ontario Canada. If your a canuck please free to join as well. Ask any questions you like and we will answer it in Hive's post here.

Peace,

Crinkled Skull:)

New game (I'm thinking of 1492, but are open minded) is starting.
I'm looking for dedicated players with cable who would want to play a couple of times a week.

Nuff said, anyone interested?

Current list of players:
Me - no country chosen
CrinkledSkull - no country chosen
Dynokeg - Austria

P.S. I'm located in Europe, but have played cross atlantic before without trouble - so location should hopefully not be a problem. I wouldn't be too exited about Australian players though...:D

What time of day are you thinking of, in GMT? I am generally available between 10 PM and 1 AM GMT, and then from 6 AM to 11 AM GMT on weekdays. On weekends...whenever, except for Sunday between 9 PM and 12 AM GMT :D I'm a n00b when it comes to MP and looking to gain some experience, so if you're fine with my experience level (or lack thereof) and availability, I'm definitely interested.

I helped conceive the LTC, so naturally, I'm in...

I'll take Denmark.

Bonjour O Hive,

I was Russia in SK's game. I just heard that that one is kaput. If there is an opening still I wouldn't mind being Russia again. If Russia is claimed I'll take whats left then :)

Great then. The glorious realms of Denmark, Muscowy and OE taken then. Ironstar, I see you are from America, and so are most of the players - so we'll probably play at a time when it's good for you amercans.:D
I'm not really in to the different timezones though, I always confuse one with another... could anyone set them strait for me? Thanks...

Btw, everyone good with 1492?

Oh, and another thing: It would probably be best for me if we play weekdays, if that's okay with everyone?

1492 is my favorite scenario, so I am more than fine with it. :D

I could help you with the timezones if I could get a basis of comparison.

For myself, I would like to take the piss-poor, but promising realm of Portugal. :)

Almost forgot contact info. I can be reached by e-mail at mournith@aol.com, and my ICQ is 158914216

California is GMT -8
New York is GMT -5
British Columbia is GMT -8 (I think?)

This looks fun - you guys have a weekday game whilst I organize a weekend 1492 game - with at least 3 or 4 of the same players. =)

Still looking for another couple for a new 1492 weekend game, if any of you lot are interested. Same sort of idea - if 6 can make it, we play.

It's actually a shame that most left - when we got a stable connection later on, we had a good time (Although HumbleOne might disagree...:D ). We only played till about 1505, so you could easily join in again. Most of your contries are doing quite good I think (exept Brandenburg, they got beat by smaller German states like Saxony...), but you could always pick a new one if necessary.

Next session will be tuesday at 10:00 PM GMT. Hope to see as many as possible of you there.

I plan on being there for it, as per our talk earlier today. Hopefully, Portugal isn't in too wretched a shape due to AI incompetence. I hope a pause will be permitted for those of us who must catch up on what our countries have been doing in our absence.

I understand the concerns of those in the group who felt I was too crash-prone to go on with. Normally, my connection is very fast and very reliable, so I can't really say why those crashes happened. But if I should crash quickly again Tuesday, I won't push it any further and instead use the time I would've spent on the game trying to figure out how to make my cable modem cooperate. My apologies for yesterday's delays.

I would like to quote Nitrate (posted in his Weekend Game thread):
"It takes a big man to sign a crippling peace treaty, it takes an idiot to fight till there is nothing left."

This should make one think a bit, am I right?:D

frequent crashes

If I may make a suggestion (I'm just sort of wandering around this forum and saw that Ironstar was having troubles); as far as I can tell, the major two contributions to crashes are either firewall issues or alt-f12 for chatting.

So, Ironstar, if you're doing alt-f12 to chat instead of tab, that could be causing the problems. Or if you're behind a software firewall or hardware firewall (such as a router), that causes HUGE problems - easiest fix is to put yourself into the DMZ of the router.

Firewall problems usually show themselves by the player only being able to 'see' or talk to the host.

My $0.02 - my ftf group was trying to set up a MP game and had the biggest problems until we resolved these two issues.

Thanks for the hints, Nitrate (although I have heard that the ALT-F12 actually is the safest method to chat, and that the TAB crashes.. oh well, different oppinions going around apparently...).

I was going through the posts in this thread, and stumbled across Agressors suggestion to write an AAR about our campaign. What do you all think about that?
CrinkledSkull, since I know that you have written AAR's before, would you be interested in writing it?
