New launcher version: 2021.4

After being away a bit, I'm back with the announcement of launcher version 2021.4 - This is another fairly minor release, but at least together with 2021.3 the change log looks interesting


Fixes

• Mod upload should no longer require a mod thumbnail, even if you previously if you set it at some point
• Error messages improvements around mod installation failure
• Game beta testers will now have the lauincher properly install PDX Mods to games they are testing
• Fixed mod tooltip captions for some languages
• Fixed tab order in the account sign-up window
• All mod notifications should not appear next to the "Play" button instead of just one (randomly selected)
• Fix for not creating/recreating ".mod" file for PDS games (as reported here)
• Mod names are no longer unnecessarily truncated

So, if anyone has the issue where the launcher becomes empty:
Disconnect from the internet, then start the launcher. The log-in part is apparently what breaks it.

It is very widespread today, yes.We're looking into it but sadly have no estimate on when it will be sorted. For now though what you could try is the following:

1. Disconnect from the internet
2. Start the launcher and sign out (if you're still signed in)
3. Reconnect and see if the launcher loads as normal (we think the issue is the account login part)

If it doesn't, then running the .exe file from the installation directory or running the game whilst offline is the current workaround until we have it fixed.

A comment on the above: Apparently this is an unfortunate conflation between a launcher bug (totally our fault, with "us" being the launcher team) and the news feed content being issued out-of-spec (totally also our fault, but another part of "us"). We are working on resolving both of these issues with a hotfix being prepared for the launcher as soon as our QA can validate that we are not in fact breaking more stuff than we are fixing.

Edit: The faulty news feed item has now been removed and things should be back to normal. We'll still fix the launcher side issue as well though!

Hello: I don't know if I'm in the right place but my version is 2021.5-rc2 . The lastest updates for the game will not let me launch the game at all and I have taken out all of the mods and uninstalled and reinstalled the game several times and I still get the error message that the game failed to launch. Please help.
