Hi All

I’m releasing a new mod this week (which may be integrated into a larger project at a later date) and just thought I’d give you all a run down on features and get some early feedback before launch. It will be my first mod to be published to the steam workshop and thought I’d let everyone shout “Don’t do that, do this!” Just in case my plans have been wrong.

It’s currently being tested and should be out by Friday.

The mod opens up all four standard subject types (Vassal, tributary, subsidiary and protectorate) to all empires, but also allows you to customise the terms of your empires subject pacts through policies.

Each subject type can be altered to:
allow or ban expansion
Enable or disable join overlord wars
Enable or disable defend subject
Enable or disable independent diplomacy
Enable or disable subject branch offices in overlord
Enable or disable overlord branch offices in subject
Enable or disable subject branch offices outside overlord

The unique tribute rates and research bonuses are unchanged.

I think mandating the ethics would be going a little far, but giving ethics attraction would be possible.
Banning the use of specific technologies is something I’d like to implement, but I think it’d be limited to certain technologies and at a later date. I wouldn’t want such a ban to prevent the research of a technology, just the use of a technology. For instance Dangerous technologies would be on the list, robot tech, psi techs. Any other suggestions would be welcome.

I’m also looking into the possibility of breach mechanics similar to the GC - so if your overlord dictates that robots are banned and you have robots either penalties are increased or benefits stop or both depending on your arrangements.
