Let's see if I can help.

Patches: Everyone uses the latest open beta patch for EU2 MP. Get 1.08 here and then get the latest beta patch from this thread (currently 25 September) here and patch it directly onto the main EU2 directory and its subdirectories.

Teamspeak: I wasn't sure what this was for a few seconds. I do remember someone suggesting this once, a couple of months ago. Basically, too few EU2 players have the facilities for in-game chat, i.e. a microphone, and people usually just stick to the in-game text chat that you access by pressing tab. There's nothing stopping you using teamspeak with the people that do have it though.

Ultimately though, what are you after? The best way to pick up a couple of hours of EU2 without anything further is to hang around valkyrienet in the EU2 channel and ask to join games that people are setting up, though that will take longer than it used to, since the game has been out quite a long time now. However, sometimes you'll find that the games you do find are long-term campaign games that run for anything up to 20 or so weeks at a time, usually arranged through this forum, and they usually, though not always, have all the players they need, or prefer to trust people they know, and know won't play short-term, to sub for any unavailable players.

So, it depends what you're after really, which isn't that clear. :)

Oh, and if you want to get involved with games here, you ought to get ICQ as well as MSN, since it's what most people here use, partly for historical reasons, and partly because it's in many ways better.
