One advice for you: start as a sub, that way you can get experience in MP without worring if you might ruin a country :D, a good way to do this is to get ICQ and look around in the main gamethreads to see if they need any subs. When doing so people will remember you and ivite you to sub.

And since you just gor EU2, try SP first, and be sure to get the latest patches, and/or any mods you're interested in.

What labalag said yes.

First try to get a good amount of single player experience under your belt. If you are able to do quite well against the AI, without needing to pause constantly, you could try MP out.

Welcome :). Doing sp first is a good idea, run through the tutorial to get the basics down. After that, MP might be a better idea as you'll learn faster facing pros who can also offer advice than mindless AI. I would suggest signing on as a minor in any new games starting. If you get beaten down badly it won't hurt the game balance, so you can use it entirely as an experiment.

thanks for the replys.

Now for a couple of questions :)

What is a sub??
what is a minor?

thanks again :)

I have tried playing SP today, and im beginning to get a feeling of the game. Allthough there is a lot to learn :)

sub: someone dedicating its time to help someone out without the real apriciation of the perm player
minor: small nation in a game that gets annexed fast or bitched over the rest of the game

Welcome :)

Bad example, i never played SP and started as a Vnet noob, but it seems to be wise to at least start a bit sp...........game basic things are not that hard though so if you start playing (subbing) fast and ask around you will learn a lot more

A sub is one who takes the spot of a permanent player who is not able to show up for a session of a game.

A minor is, quite simply, a minor power. Examples would be Brandenburg, The Papal States, Brittany, Scotland, Byzantium, Venice, Bohemia, etc. Major powers would be England, France, Castille/Spain, Austria, The Ottoman Empire, Poland, Russia, Sweden, etc.

And Denmark is a rightfull major too :D

Ohh and get yourself an icq number, that's the best way to communicate.

Some advice:
put your icq in the signature.
And look actively for a game to join, the sub/perm thread will hold information about opportunities for subbing.

Comedic remark: I am also new to the community. However, my main intention is to throw my weight around like someone who's been here for years. :D

Suggestion: Play as a substitute in games. Never falter even when you're bored. Always show up on time and play the game as it was your own country. Dependability is perhaps the most important distinguishing feature for a sought-after permanent player.

ok, I have now played a full game as denmark in SP. I got in sekond place (played easy) when the game ended in 1819.

I have icq. My icq number is: 14102771

Please inform me if I can play sub somewhere :)

Welcome!

I'll add you on ICQ.

If you want you can show up at 1am GMT to play your first EU2 MP game. However the time will be hard for you.
