Presenting the 3D model for Finland's Hamina class missile boat.



This is an extremely exciting corvette-size boat. The Hamina is stealthy, has a solid array of sensors (including, unusually for such a small boat, sonar). It carries missiles against surface as well as air threats. Add some Finnish sisu, and we're looking at a very capable littoral defense asset.

I think that the sonar might have something to do with the size of finnish navy (can't afford not to have it).

I see you guys are using Autodesk Maya for modelling jobs. Does Unity Engine use the obj. format or something else?

Hmm, the Royal Navy does need some decent patrol corvettes, perhaps we should steal these from Finland.

We export to FBX for Unity use. It is a good format since it includes smoothing information, pivot position, etc. However we could use OBJ also, even MA, MB or 3DS, all of these formats are supported in Unity

The Ministry of Defence has largely balanced its books now and money is being made available to pay for things, after the carriers, new frigates, attack subs etc are all in service I imagine the navy will have the money for some little boats!
