Hi folks! :)
Spocky and I have been busy playing with the latest enhancement and successfully adapted DAIM for the actual version. Starting with our files of the last versions, we overhauled many of our settings (production, research etc.) and kept in mind the changes made to the standard AI at the same time.
Right now we're pretty pleased with our results and decided to release our first version for 1.3a (it's actually compatible to both 1.3 and 1.3a because there were no AI changes between these two game versions).
You can expect the familiar DAIM quality and we wish you a lot of fun and good luck - you might need it! :D

(more detailed information about this new DAIM release will follow soon right below)

Incomplete change log

We'd like to point out and explain some of the changes:
  • as said above, production and research have been readjusted in all files
  • DAIM now uses own minister and slider changes that replace the standard ones
  • prohibited the AIs of cruising in weird sea zones
  • the "aggressive Hungary" settings have been deactivated
  • much better Japan naval invasions than with DAIM 1.2
  • reworked and improved the sequence of war declarations of the DAIM Germany and Italy
  • some new "opportunistic DoWs" by the Soviet Union
  • slightly modified events for China and Japan

As for the changed events...

This time we changed a tad more than usual with DAIM, but we think we have good reasons for that: As you'll notice, there's now a new option in the DAIM installer that is activated per default, the "Modified Events". These modified events basically consist of three changes:
  • We changed the surrender event of China (in nationalist_china.txt) to give Japan the whole coastline in the first option (and Japan will now always choose this option). This was made to save Japan from a bug that sometimes ruins its economy by sucking up lots of supplies that are sent by convoy to a province that isn't controlled by them.
  • When China surrenders to Japan, the player will now get an event telling him/her to reload (!). If you do so, you'll make sure that the new Japanese puppet Nationalist China (created the next day) will have leaders - this is necessary because the "Released puppets don't have leaders" bug was only fixed partially. It may seem like a weird walkaround, but it works (japan.txt). :)
  • We removed the contents of "japanmanpower.txt" because these events seemed to be overdone (manpower increase much too high), had incomplete triggers (no check for war or peace) and they do nothing (because the event command rounds down every value below 1 to 0).

If you don't like these changes, simply uncheck the option when installing and these three files won't be touched.

One thing that I forgot to mention yesterday: We increased the leader ratios for our major power AIs, resulting in higher ranking leaders via autopromote for them. It was made to encourage the AI to use at least some larger unit stacks and to compensate a little for its somewhat random leader assignments.
A purist would consider it an AI cheat, yes. ;)

So will I have to restart my game to take advantage of the new DAIM features?

Well, installing DAIM and continue games started without the mod will lead to a mixture of standard and DAIM AIs which is obviously not recommended. ;)
If you want to take full advantage of DAIM you'll have to start a new game once you installed the mod, yes.

You say there is an event announcement for each country with DAIM AI. I clicked on your download, I went through the install sequence, I started a game, but encountered no event announcement. Does this mean DAIM is not working?

EDIT: Nevermind. There's a one day delay with the DAIM AI installation events, and I'm pretty slow with the time-gauge at this stage. Thanks.

When the events had appeared, DAIM is installed :D . But the two days delay maybe irritating, thats true.
