Ok. I am new to this and cant find an answer in the manual. I am starting the turtorial and just moved my troops to the province on the left. I cant remeber the name right now but its in green. My Home Province, Ulster I think its called is in beige. When I discover the other Provicnes they are in beige also. How come the Province on the left of me is in green. its not colonized by anyone or have any native. Can anyone give me an explanition or where to look so I know what the diferent colours mean of the provinces

Also when I exit EU it freezes my computer and I cant do anything except shut it off maually then when I start it up I have to go through scan disk every time. Anything I can do? Anyone else with this problem?

Thanks

Thank you. I will check it out.

Lifted this from my personal FAQ that I've gathered from various places:

Terrain affects movement, combat and attrition.

White = Plains (1 movement pt.)
Green = Forest (1.25)
Yellow = Desert (1.25)
Aqua = Marsh (1.5)
Brown = Mountains (1.75)
River crossings (+1 movement pt.)
National borders (+0.5 movement pt.)

White = Plains (1 movement pt.)
Green = Forest (1.25)
Yellow = Desert (1.25)
Aqua = Marsh (1.5)
Brown = Mountains (1.75)

Hmm, just as a design choice, I would have preferred Plains to be light green, and Forests to be dark green, and leave the rest as is. White tends to suggest snow, and snow is typically associated with mountains, so it might be a little bit confusing. On the other hand, some people have trouble discerning shades of green, so ... :)

If you let the computer sit for 30 seconds or so, it will often unfreeze. The work around that I use is to save the game, then hit alt-tab to shrink the window, and then close it. I have had no problems exiting this way.

They obviously decided to go with the colors used by the Original BG.

White IS snow. Off-white/beige is plains.
