Newbie Questions

Great Site.....very active


A few quick questions:

1) Can anyone point me to a thread on how to jump start the economy?
Playing England in Grand Campaign and I'm having trouble building cash

2) If you initiate an alliance, how do you subsequently invite additional members (sorry if this is a really stupid question.

3) Any thread on best tactics/checklist over first 25 years or so?

Ok, here goes:

1. & 3. Check Heysay's strategy guide for answers

2. Click on diplomacy screen, the on the country you want and select "invite to alliance". Another method: right-click on the country you want and select "send diplomat". Again invite

1. Check this thread. Also search for 'how to make your own gold mine. It is an excellent thread describing loan strategies... (Btw, can some mod make that one sticky in the FAQ forum)

2. Just go to the diplo screen and click invite to alliance. If they are not in another alliance the option will be available. Mind you, that countries with whom you have bad relationships won't join

3. Higher in this forum there is a good strategy guide on Major Nations by Heyesey. Excellent stuff, only for majors though.

Btw, i forgot to add one thing, chill888. Most of the info you could have got using "search"- just like Vulture told.

And if you're newbie, then it's good idea to read all the stickys in FAQ (btw, if things go as they go, stickys will take up the first page and half of second one as well )

You kind of get used to it, when people regularly ask your name to type in a computer, and you SPELL IT OUT to them and they still spell it wrong.

Every time I wanna use Heyesey's name in a post I have to edit it to the correct form after typing it U have a hard name to type, u know, esp if u can't type

Sorry, I didnt mean you. This happens IRL; for example every time I visit the doctor's surgery they think I'm a new patient because they type in my name wrong and tell me I'm not registered. I tell them how to spell it as a reflex action, but they don't bother listening since they think they already know.
